Day 1 – Saturday, 30th November 19 (includes dinner)

Siem Reap

 Arrive in Siem Reap and transfer to the hotel by Tuk-Tuk.

 If your flight lands early, you can visit the Angkor National Museum (optional: cost will

depend on the number of people who sign up for this)

Discover secrets of the Angkor period on a guided tour of the Angkor National Museum.

The interactive museum showcases artefacts from the Golden Era of the Khmer Empire

by use of multimedia technology to picture this interesting historical period.

Day 2 – Sunday, 1

st December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch) Siem Reap (full day

by Tuk-Tuk)

 Breakfast at the hotel.

 Start early at 5 a.m. to catch the iconic sunrise at Angkor Wat.

 Visit the magnificent Angkor Wat Temple. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II

in the early 12th

century, Angkor Wat was constructed following the model of the temple

mountain symbolizing Mount Meru, the home of the gods.

 Back to the hotel for breakfast.

 Take a midday break to refuel and escape the sun’s hottest rays. Resume the Siem

Reap sightseeing tour with a visit to the temples of Ta Phrom and Bayon.

Overgrown with trees and vines, Ta Phrom temple is a perfect example of how nature

crept in and reclaimed its land after the fall of the Angkorian empires.

 This evening attend a performance of ‘Phare, the Cambodian Circus’. Starting at 7

p.m., professional artists of Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPS) will perform an inspiring show

suitable for people of all ages. Set up in Battambang in 1994 by young Cambodians

returning from the refugee camps, who learnt how to use art as a means to cope with

trauma, PPS has played an influential role in promoting and developing Khmer culture

over the years after the Khmer Rouge genocide. The hour-long show mixes traditional

and modern theatre, music, dance, acrobatics, juggling, and contortion woven around

the story of Cambodian life and society.

Day 3 – Monday, 2

nd December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch)

Siem Reap

 Post breakfast travel by an AC vehicle to the countryside to see the ‘gem’ of the Angkor

area, the pretty temple of Banteay Srei. The so-called ‘Citadel of the Women’ remains

the best-preserved temple in Cambodia.

 Stop at local communities on the way back to see how rice paper is produced.

 Lunch at a local restaurant.

 Then head out for a boat trip on the Tonlé Sap. Tonlé Sap is Southeast Asia’s largest

freshwater lake. Its size varies greatly depending on the season – it swells to about four

times its size during the rainy season.

 Board a local boat and visit the village of Kampong Khleang.

 Return to Siem Reap. Evening at leisure.

Day 4 – Saturday, 3

rd December (includes breakfast and street food dinner)

Siem Reap - HCMC

 Transfer to the airport for your flight to HCMC.

(Cost of this flight is not included – we will book this at actual cost, which works out

cheaper.)

 Pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in and relax.

 In the evening we go on a street-food tour in HCMC.

Meet with a passionate foodie and walk through hidden corners of the city to discover

the best street food and delve in local culture.

Stroll through a public park, visit a local street restaurant that serves up the best

banhxeo.

Carry on to Tan Dinh Market.

Next a short walk to another popular restaurant.

Having sampled the savoury side of the city, cross a busy city intersection to a typical

Vietnamese café and indulge in a sweet treat.

And Wind up the evening with a stop at a live music café. Rub elbows with the locals

while listening to Vietnamese music.

Day 5 – Wednesday, 4

th December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch)

HCMC

 Half-day tour of Củ Chi Tunnels.

 The incredible underground tunnel network at Củ Chi Tunnels was constructed by

Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during their long struggle for independence.

You’ll see the secret trapdoors, underground kitchens, living areas, and meeting rooms.

The more adventurous may explore the deeper second- and third-level tunnels.

 We then head back to Saigon for lunch and then continue on a city tour.

 Visit the War Museum, the Reunification Hall (formerly known as the Presidential

Palace – it was this modern building that North Vietnamese tanks seized in the morning

of 30 April 1975, as Saigon fell). Continue to the Old Post Office and the Notre Dame

Cathedral.

Day 6 – Thursday, 5

th December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch)

 Depart at 8 a.m. for a 2-hour drive to Cai Be, deep in the Mekong Delta.

 Take a local boat, visit the villages in the Mekong, Tan Phong Island, and eat a

scrumptious lunch at an ancient house in the Mekong.

 Late afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 7 – Friday, 6

th December’ 19 (includes breakfast)

Fly from HCMC to DaNang and transfer to Hội An (1 hour by road). (Cost of this flight is not

included – we will book this at actual cost, which works out cheaper.)

 Afternoon at leisure.

(We would recommend we hire cycles and head to the beaches nearby. Or Take a Taxi)

Day 8 – Saturday, 7

th December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch)

We start with a walking tour in Hội An, one of Vietnam’s most picturesque towns. Hội An

was once a major Asian trading port in the 17

th and 18

th centuries and its architecture and

relaxed lifestyle have changed little over the years.

Take a walk through the town and see the remarkably well-preserved traditional

houses, stop at the Japanese Covered Bridge,

And a Chinese communal hall – we love strolling through the alleys of this magical town

 Visit some of Hội An’s famous handicraft shops, art galleries, and the town’s vibrant

market. Explore smaller lanes and local neighbourhoods to appreciate Hội An’s endless

charm.

 Take a night flight to Hanoi.

cheaper.)

Day 9 – Sunday, 8

th December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch)

 Start the morning with a half-day guided tour of Hanoi’s highlights.

Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, Ho Chi Minh complex (entry to

the Mausoleum cannot be guaranteed).

Walk to Ho Chi Minh’s house on built stilts, where he lived from 1958 to 1969.

Visit the One Pillar pagoda, built in 1049, one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples.

 Continue the walk through the Old Quarter, learning about Vietnam’s traditional ways of

life while crossing the maze of streets and lanes.

 Break for lunch and then we get a couple of hours free.

 In the evening catch a traditional water puppet show, a unique northern Vietnamese art

form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history.

Day 10 – Monday, 9

th December 19 (includes breakfast and lunch)

 We leave Hanoi early morning and depart for Ha Long Bay (4.5 hours drive).

 Relax on the cruise. There is a range of activities to choose from.

 The boat will take us to some caves and to a floating village. You can enjoy a swim in

the emerald waters of Ha Long Bay and go kayaking as well.

Dinner and overnight on the boat

(There are different price ranges of boats that one can take. We get on a fairly luxurious

boat – to relax and soak it all in.)

Day 11 – Tuesday, 10th December 19 (includes breakfast)

We disembark around 11 a.m. and transfer to Hanoi airport.

 Fly back home.

Please look at booking a flight that departs after 7 p.m.

(If you wish to stay back in Hanoi for a day, please let us know. We can arrange for the

hotel room and additional transfers accordingly at extra cost.)

 INR 5,000 from the booking deposit is non-refundable

 Within 70 days from departure – balance amount (except INR 5,000) is refundable

 Between 70 days and 45 days before departure date – 75% is refundable

 Between 45 days and 30 days before departure date – 50% is refundable

 Between 30 days and 15 days before departure date – 25% is refundable

 No refund thereafter for any cancellation or no-shows
